The one-year partnership designed to offer players in the North & Northwest suburbs greater opportunities.
Citing the growing needs of their expanding communities, North Metro Soccer Association (North Metro) and Three Rivers Soccer Association (Three Rivers) have announced a one-year partnership aimed at providing increased opportunities for players in the North and Northwest Suburbs of Minneapolis.
The partnership is designed to provide players of all ages and skill levels with more options and a better fit in instruction and game experiences. The goal is to maximizing player development while maintaining the local support and sense of community that are core values of both North Metro and Three Rivers.
“Both associations have the same goals and values,” said Denise Winkler, President of the Three Rivers Soccer Association. “It’s all about giving families and players the soccer experience they want and deserve. We realized that by joining forces, we could create the right developmental fit for more players, whether they’re looking for a recreational experience or the highest levels of competitive play.”
“Our communities continue to grow and demand more from us. We both wanted to ensure that we could meet everyone’s needs,” added David Tarleton, President of the North Metro Soccer Association. “This partnership improves our ability to offer the high-quality instruction, programming, and other resources that players require at every level.”
The new partnership will officially launch August 1, 2018, with combined programming beginning in the fall of 2018. The first step will be partnering to form top level teams at the 2005-2008 birth years. The second step is to provide pool training for players born between 2005 and 2011.
“North Metro and Three Rivers recreational programs will continue as they are currently run,” added Tarleton. “The partnership will allow us to offer additional trained staff resulting in increased instructional support and development.”
The two organizations will be holding town hall meetings on June 27th at 7pm at Oakview Middle School, June 28th at 7:00pm at Fox Hollow Golf Club, 4780 Palmgren Lane NE, St. Michael, and June 30th at 9am at Adrenaline Sports Center.
